IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING
frequently asked questions
-
What is online coaching?Online coaching is a new and exciting way to offer life-changing nutrition and fitness coaching. It can be utilized by anyone, anywhere, offering convenience, responsiveness, and flexibility. It is tailored specifically to you. It empowers clients with more accountability and support than I ever could in-person. The best part? The program is your program. Designed for busy people who value their time.
-
What type of clients do you work with?My target clients are women of all ages 18+. I work with generally healthy people and with anyone who wants to change their body composition and improve their health and performance. Postpartum women and breastfeeding women are also welcome but I do recommend that clients wait 3 months postpartum before any weight loss attempts but always consult with your health care provider first. For nursing women I tailor macros to a safe calorie deficit to help keep your supply up.
-
What are macros? The term “macros” is short for macronutrients: carbohydrates, fats, and protein. Macronutrients provide energy, structure, and regulation for our bodies to help perform everyday tasks.
-
Why count macros? It's used as an awareness tool. Much like stepping on the scale and weighing yourself on a regular basis, counting calories and macros helps you develop an awareness of how much and what type of foods you are eating. Counting macros is essentially a form of self-monitoring, and self-monitoring has been shown to be an important component of fat loss success. It's also used as a tracking and adjustment tool. As your coach, the more information I have, the better I can help you succeed. Since nutrition is at least half of the fat loss or muscle gain battle, it's important that I know your calorie and macronutrient breakdowns. It will help me make adjustments to your dietary strategies when necessary.
-
Are there any foods off limits with counting macros? No foods are off limits. Think of your macros and calories like a budget. You get to choose how to spend them but spending them wisely on whole foods versus highly processed foods is the better choice. There is also flexibility in enjoying a treat meal and my clients get to enjoy an untracked meal once a week.
-
Do you provide meal plans?Nope! My goal is to partner with you to learn how to create a plan that incorporates the foods you love into your lifestyle while allowing you to meet your goals! I will provide recipes throughout our time together but up to your discretion to use them.
-
What type of exercise do you recommend?I recommend resistance training/strength training as it will give you the most bang for your buck in seeing body changes. Although, this is not required and I will support whatever exercise you incorporate into your lifestyle and adjust your macros accordingly.
-
Do I need to follow a specific diet or lifestyle to benefit from your program? Not at all! I believe in flexibility. While the program includes nutrition coaching tailored to your goals, it’s designed to fit your lifestyle, preferences, and dietary needs. You won’t need to follow any restrictive diets, just a balanced, sustainable approach.
-
What is included in your 12-week program? The 12-week program includes personalized nutrition guidance, a structured fitness plan based on progressive overload, weekly check-ins, and ongoing support. Each phase is designed to build upon the last to ensure you see continuous progress and avoid plateaus.
-
How much time do I need to commit to the fitness portion of the program? The 12-week fitness program follows a 4-day split, so you’ll need to dedicate about 3-5 hours a week to your workouts. I also emphasize rest and recovery, which is just as important for progress.
-
What if I miss a workout or fall behind on my nutrition plan?Life happens, and I’m here to support you through it. If you miss a workout or feel off track with your nutrition, we’ll work together to adjust and get you back on course. Consistency is key, but there’s no need to stress over occasional setbacks.
-
Do I need any special equipment to follow the fitness program? The program can be adapted based on what equipment you have access to. Whether you have a gym membership, home gym equipment, or just bodyweight, we can modify the workouts to suit your needs.
-
How do the one-on-one coaching sessions work?During our one-on-one coaching, we’ll focus on your specific goals, challenges, and provide personalized feedback. We can meet virtually or in person (depending on your location). I’ll help you stay accountable, troubleshoot any obstacles, and adjust your program as needed.
-
Can I start the program at any time?Yes! You can start the program as soon as you’re ready. After our initial consultation, we’ll jump right into your personalized plan to get you moving toward your goals.
-
What happens after the 12 weeks?Once you complete the 12-week program, we’ll reassess your goals and progress. Depending on your results and what you want to continue working on, we can either continue with a new program, maintain your progress, or focus on new goals for the next phase.
-
